Christoph Rumpf Modern Tradition

Christoph Rumpf won the grand prix du jury at the Hyères Festival in 2019, finished his studies at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna in 2020 and founded his eponymous brand in 2021. By mixing traditional menswear clothing with a modern approach and a sustainable point of view, he is creating collections for the modern sophisticated man and woman with an artistic point of view and appreciation for well-tailored clothing.

How would you describe your Fall/Winter 2021 collection?

It is an ode to traditional menswear with a theatrical twist and the joy of dressing up. Each look represents one part of the evolution of a character.

What is the look or the piece that reflects the spirit of the season?

The oversized shirts made out of deadstock fabrics and bedsheets which are cut and exposing most parts of the body while moving are a very good representation of the whole collection and tell the first part of the story of this collection.

What is the message you wanted to share with this collection?

It is a collection about overcoming trauma and the steps from feeling alone and exploited to accepting the past and growing from it. The whole collection is a vibrant mix of playing with fabrics that somehow make nostalgic and remind you of the past but bringing each garment into the now and make them desirable for the man and woman of today.
