In 2019, Mansour Badjoko and Martin Liesnard combine their experiences, in fashion for one with studies at La Cambre and Insititut Français de la Mode, in management for the other and launch Mansour Martin. The brand proposes a sustainable and respectful fashion that is designed for men and women, with pop, urban and cultural inspirations.

How would you describe your Fall/Winter 2021 collection ?

The Fall-Winter 2021 collection is inspired by furniture design and brutalism. It includes shades of green, brown, grey referring to the interiors of the 60s. Textured materials, dry wool dyed with natural pigments, ribbed jersey, are reminiscent of upholstery fabrics. The collection also offers pieces borrowed from the essentials of a craftsman’s uniform.

We collaborated this season with the multidisciplinary London-based design agency Hotel Creative. The collaboration takes us into an “ultra-graphic” universe with colourful prints that shake up the colours of autumn. These designs confront, with poetry, all the other pieces of the collection. A parka, a bomber, an over-shirt, a range of pieces piece in Lycra allow the mix the different prints.

What is the look or the piece that reflects the spirit of the season ?

The first look is a pale green parka made with a recycled polyester material made from marine plastic waste in Spain. We use an innovative printing process that does not use water. It is worn on the jacket of our iconic costume. The latter is embellished with slits in the back seams, and on the sleeve seams, which reveal the organic ribbed jersey T-shirt worn under. It brings some sensuality to the look. The pants in Japanese satin are inspired by large cargo pants.

What is the message you wanted to share with this collection ?

The brand stands for creativity, sophistication, and responsibility. At Mansour Martin, each collection explores a multitude of textile innovations that reflect the brand’s responsible commitment. Before launching the brand, we did a tour in Europe to discover innovative start-ups in the textile field. All styles are made in France and Belgium by independent artisans and small family factories, including a job integration workshop in Brussels.

Mansour Martin is part of SPHERE Paris Fashion Week Showroom.
