The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode presents a common framework for ecoscenography of Paris Fashion Week® events

Focus, Insights

The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode extends its commitment to social and environmental responsibility by publishing a common framework for the ecoscenography of events. Intended for all Member Houses and Guests of the Official Calendars of Paris Fashion Week® and Haute Couture Week, this document, developed with the support of DEFI and collaboration of Soqo*, formalises shared practices to encourage more circular and responsible event scenography.

The common framework for ecoscenography of Paris Fashion Week® events is a new stepping stone in the CSR approach undertaken by the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode.

It is part of the actions undertaken by the Fédération since 2019, through concrete initiatives in the areas of transport, venue sharing, waste management and material reuse. It provides a set of 75 criteria, classified by theme and level of ambition, enabling production teams to self-assess and gradually integrate eco-design principles into all stages of their projects.

This work brought together the following event stakeholders: fashion houses, production agencies, builders, recyclers and reuse specialists, cultural venues, and experts in life cycle analysis and eco-design. The PFW® event eco-scenography guidelines were formalised by consolidating all existing resources on event eco-design in the cultural and artistic sectors, supported by expert interviews, in order to develop recommendations.
