Which is the main trend you forecast for the upcoming Spring/Summer 2021 season?
In ready to wear, retailers are selling lounge inspired separates now, this along with luxe pyjama dressing will be an important trend for spring 2021. Loungy, easy, breathable tops and bottoms with details in soft organic materials in natural colours that can be worn during the day and out; will be a focus after this long period of confinement and with new ways of working from a distance.
Are you changing the way to select brands and to edit the collections?
We always look at the quality, materials used, construction, finishing and pricing as criteria when selecting a brand. Currently, we are making sure that we have a strong range of diverse, inclusive and black owned brands across all categories while making our brand selections. It is important to have an offering that represents our total consumer base within the premium and luxury world.
Have you observed any change in customer behaviours?
Sustainability has been a focus for some time, we have seen a rise in importance around sustainable practices, whether it be in the choice of materials, production process or treatment of workers across the supply chain. Millennials want transparency and want to feel that their items have longevity. Clothing made in organic materials; upcycled or recycled fabrics, fine jewellery and luxury handbags have continued to sell despite these challenging times as consumers feel that they are making a less harmful impact on the environment and that these items will last.
