The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode pays tribute to Virgil Abloh who passed away this Sunday, November 28.

Virgil Abloh, Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton’s men’s collections and Founder and Artistic Director of Off-White, has passed away at the age of 41. The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode pays tribute to this extremely talented designer. We will sorely miss his generosity, the humanistic values he defended, his incredible creativity that allowed fashion and the arts to meet. He had founded the Maison Off-White in 2013 and joined the Maisons Louis Vuitton in 2018 to direct the menswear collections.

“Virgil Abloh was a visionary fashion designer. Driven by great creativity, he renewed the codes of fashion, founded an incredibly successful house and brought all his talent and keen sense of innovation to Louis Vuitton. But above all, he was an exceptional man through his humanity, his openness to others, his generosity of heart and his willingness to break down barriers.” said Ralph Toledano, President of the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode.

“Virgil Abloh was a great artist, who combined fashion, music, design, scenography, and performance with the utmost ease. He was a man of heart and tolerance, a humanist of our time.” adds Pascal Morand, Executive President of the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode.
